Liferay Portal Community Edition Status?

Hi all

The “Liferay Community Downloads” page is now pointing to Liferay DXP 2025.Q1.17 LTS.

The last “Liferay Portal” in Docker Hub is 7.4.3.132-ga132, from 8 months ago.

Is Liferay Portal CE still available? What is the release frequency?

Can someone explain the changes?

Thanks for pointing that out - it looks like something got mixed up on the Community Downloads page.

Liferay Portal CE is still definitely available - we’ll get that link fixed as soon as possible.

The release strategy for CE was announced a while back by Marco Leo in this blog - it follows an annual release cycle which is linked to the LTS release of Liferay DXP, so, 7.4.3.132-ga132 is the current release of CE.

Followup:
Since the last CE Release is from 8 months ago, does that version still get critical security fixes, etc.?
Or does CE only get released once a year now, no matter what vulnerabilities are discovered afterwards?

No, it doesn’t.
