Analytics Cloud: Improving the Assets Section

What is the problem you are trying to solve?

We’ve been testing and evaluating Analytics Cloud for the last 2 months, and I wanted to share our feedback collected from both Technical and Business users. This is the second item from the list of proposals we have prepared.

The current Assets section allows viewing statistics for various Liferay assets from the most to the least visited. The list is fixed and cannot be customized. When the site grows and expands, it is often necessary to evaluate content performance based on the article metadata, for example, “What are the most viewed assets published by the Communications Department“ (departments might be tags) or “What are the statistics for News about Agriculture“ (News might be a structure and Agriculture a category). Currently, preparing these kinds of reports requires a lot of manual work.

What is your proposed solution?

  • Users should be able to filter the Assets view for Structures (for Web Content and Documents), Categories, and Tags.
  • The user should be able to combine multiple filters to get the desired combination of Assets.
  • Users should be able to add more columns to the Assets table layout, for example, categories (all or coming from a specific vocabulary), tags or structures.
  • Apart from the article metadata, users should be also able to add all analytical metrics captured for the Asset, e.g. Reads.
  • The filtered and customized view should be exportable to XLS.

What is your project about? (e. g. Intranet, Partner Portal, Enterprise Website, etc)
