License on k8s

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have experience with Liferay licensing when deploying Liferay on a Kubernetes (K8s) cluster?

I’d like to understand how the license works in a Kubernetes environment, especially when:

  • Running multiple Liferay replicas/pods
  • Pods are restarted or rescheduled to different nodes
  • Scaling the deployment horizontally

Is the license tied to the pod, node, or cluster?

Any information or real-world experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Liferay now has an Cloud Native subscription (Cloud Native Experience - Liferay Official Documentation - Liferay Learn) where it will be licensed based on the number of pods. Reach out to their sales for more details Client Challenge
