How to find and join a Liferay User Group

Whether you’re a developer, administrator, architect, or business user, the Liferay ecosystem is massive, and one way of getting involved, learn, and contribute is through Liferay User Groups (LUGs).

A quick clarification: when we talk about Liferay User Groups on this post, we’re referring to the geographic, in-person, or virtual gatherings of Liferay enthusiasts, not the “User Group” feature for managing permissions within Liferay.

How to Join a Liferay User Group

Liferay uses Meetup as the central hub to manage and promote our official user groups globally. To find a LUG near you and see their upcoming events, simply visit the Meetup page:

  1. Visit the link above.

  2. Find your location or scroll through the list of active groups.

  3. Click on a group and join its Meetup page to start receiving notifications about new events, discussions, and content.

Joining a Liferay User Group (LUG) and becoming an active member of the wider Liferay community is a direct investment in your career; you’ll expand your technical knowledge by attending events, grow your professional network by connecting with fellow experts and Liferay staff.
