What versions are available for the Free Tier? (July 7 update)

Hi all,

Just keeping everyone up-to-date. As of right now the latest available versions of Liferay DXP that can be used with the free tier are:

  • 2026.Q1.9-lts
  • 2026.Q2.6

Remember that once the next Quarterly Release is out we stop issuing updates for the prior one - so, for Q1, .9 is the last. For Q2 there may (or may not) be more - at least until Q3 comes out.

Hi,

I just got a fresh Free Tier license from Marketplace for a new 2026.Q1.10-lts portal and Liferay responds with:

DXP Production license validation failed

java.lang.Exception: License is not suppported in 2026.Q1.10 LTS

Is that just a mistake in license validation or do we need to fall back to 2026.Q1.9?

@mtrotzek I believe dxp 2026.Q1.10 is not supported (based on the lists provided in the marketplace)

Hi everyone,

Sorry, to all, in particular @mtrotzek - we got some wires crossed, and as @arun said, 2026.Q1.10 is not available for the Free Tier.

The available list on marketplace.liferay.com is correct, while Download Liferay DXP Free Tier - Liferay DXP was wrong (as was my post). Both have now been corrected.

In terms of options, yes, you could stick with .9, but our recommendation would be to move to the Q2 release instead.

Simple human error - sorry everyone.
