# How to reindex Workflow Metrics without the UI?

Hi everyone,

we are investigating an Elasticsearch issue on **Liferay DXP 2026.Q1.7 LTS** with **Elasticsearch 8.19.5**.

The reported error is:

`index_not_found_exception: no such index [workflow-metrics-processes]`

We verified that the standard reindex from:

`Control Panel → Configuration → Search → Index Actions → All Search Indexes → Reindex`

successfully rebuilds the main Liferay index, but it does **not** rebuild the `workflow-metrics-*` indexes.

According to the documentation, Workflow Metrics has its own dedicated reindex from:

`Workflow → Metrics → Settings → Reindex All`

However, in our test environment the **Workflow Metrics UI is not available** (the environment currently uses a Free activation key), so we cannot test this procedure directly.

Is there any supported alternative to **reset/recreate/reindex the Workflow Metrics Elasticsearch indexes without using the Workflow Metrics UI**?
